Dr. Robert Wright MB ChB, DRCOG, DCH

Born 1963 in St.Helens I went to Liverpool University and qualified in 1988. I did
most of my training at Whiston Hospital and my junior doctor year. Then did GP
training scheme for 3 years based in Lancashire Hospitals and Bamber Bridge GP
practice. Not ready then to join a partnership, I did 6 months community
paediatrics in Ormskirk to gain more experience.
In 1991 joined a GP practice in Prescot then after 1 year moved to a practice in
St.Helens where I stayed for 13 years until moving to Culcheth Medical Centre in
2006. I have gained post-graduate diplomas in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and
Paediatrics and have worked in Willowbrook Hospice in Prescot for a year and until
2006 had worked for 10 years doing regular out-of-hours sessions for St.Helens
Rota GP service. My main medical interests are centred around palliative care,
paediatrics and recently dermatology.
In my spare time I like to cook and have developed an interest in Indian cuisine.
Having recently adopted a new dog 'Scooby' from the Dog Trust, I now do a lot of
walking and enjoy the Lakes and Dales fells. I have a life long passion for music
mostly Rock/Blues/Folk/New Country and attend concerts both in UK and abroad to
see our favourites. Like my father I am Derby County supporter {we all have our
crosses to bear!!} and times have been hard recently but with the appointment of
Nigel Clough as manager we hope for better days ahead!!
